Joe Smith is a Client Manager and Senior Accountant at Sothertons. Joe has over 15 years experience in the accounting industry and moved to Gladstone from Scotland in 2007. Using his Chartered Accountant qualification to see more of the world, Joe decided to stay in Gladstone as he loved it so much!

Joe works with clients ranging from small sole traders through to large international companies and has a passion for helping business owners in the Gladstone region achieve their goals.

Carl, GCCI's President is a local business manager with 11 years of professional experience across corporate operations. 

Carl, GCCI's President is a local business manager with 11 years of professional experience and has completed his CPA and university degree in a Bachelor of Business. He’s recently joined CMM after working in media and content creation for 11 years. The majority of this time was in senior executive roles within Australian Provincial Newspapers, including his most recent role as General Manager for APN’s largest region in North and Central Queensland. Carl’s background is in finance and it's this business acumen and approachable nature that has enabled him to form genuine relationships with a variety of clients and brands in regional markets.

Tom Kirchner, Store Manager of Gladstone Betta Home Living, has lived in Gladstone all of his life with the exception of study. 

Tom Kirchner, Store Manager of Gladstone Betta Home Living, has lived in Gladstone all of his life, (with the exception of studying a Bachelor Degree in Rockhampton for 3 years).

Tom volunteers time for numerous local organisations such as BTABC (helping organise the local BAM event). Tom is the Chairman for the Gladstone Region Youth Council and has been a GCCI committee member since November 2016.

He studies a Bachelor of Business part time and is passionate about small business and the economic development of Gladstone.

In October 2013, Alicia opened her own independent real estate agency, Locations Estate Agents Gladstone. Alicia has been a GCCI board member for 4 years and is looking forward to helping the committee achieve even bigger, better results for Gladstone’s small business community in 2017.

Symone Genrich is the owner of SBH Consultancy, which has been operating in the Gladstone region since 2007. Symone is an articulate and dedicated safety professional, with an extensive background in health, safety, injury management, security and environment systems across varied business and industries.

SBH Consultancy has been a member of GCCI since 2016, with Symone recently becoming a committee member in 2017, she is looking forward to helping the committee achieve even bigger, better results for Gladstone’s small business community in 2017/2018.

Ashleigh Kvitko, is the owner of local brands Elevate Media and our regional Gladstone News publications.

Ashleigh Kvitko, is the owner of local brands Elevate Media and Gladstone News. Ashleigh moved to the region in 2012 as an Account Executive and advanced into the Deputy Sales Manager position for Central Queensland with Channel 7.

Her passion for media and marketing saw her grab the opportunity to take over Elevate Media and Gladstone News with both hands and evolve them into heavily design and digital focused brands. Ashleigh has a love for small businesses, building client relationships and helping businesses flourish into successful brands.

Lyndal Hansen

Lyndal's entrepreneurial ability is used in strategic planning, identifying and continually leveraging on opportunities for clients.

Lyndal has been a Director for Amarna for the past 17 years. She has a background with State Government, which saw her in a leadership role, as Regional Manager for two Government Departments, developing and implementing key Government outcomes. Lyndal has strong communication skills, performing much of the consultation processes within Amarna projects. She is a visionary, constantly looking for strategic outcomes.

Her entrepreneurial ability has been useful in strategic planning, identifying and continually leveraging on opportunities for clients. Lyndal has worked extensively with not for profit community organisations and is passionate about building the local economy from the inside out.

Sarah Camilleri

Sarah is a Town Planner and Office Manager with 8 years’ experience across Local Government and private sectors.

Sarah Camilleri is a Town Planner and Office Manager for Zone Planning Group, with 8 years’ experience working in both Local Government and private sectors. During this time Sarah has been responsible for both the project management and assessment of numerous developments across Queensland including residential master planned estates, mixed use and high-rise residential development, commercial projects and a variety of large industrial developments, along with the project management of CBD urban renewal strategies, placemaking projects and policy drafting.

In addition to practicing as a Town Planner, Sarah also holds a Masters in Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development, which allows her to assist both Local Government and Private Sector Organisations to develop resilience against disasters through the development of Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Business Continuity Plans. Sarah is committed to using her skills to help Gladstone’s business community navigate their way through the red tape, realise their development goals and encourage economic growth throughout our Region.
