Joe Smith

Joe Smith is a Client Manager and Senior Accountant at UHY Haines Norton - formerly Sothertons. Joe has over 20 years experience in the accounting industry. 

Joe moved to Gladstone from Scotland in 2007. Using his Chartered Accountant qualification to see more of the world, Joe decided to stay in Gladstone as he loved it so much!

Joe works with clients ranging from small sole traders through to large international companies and has a passion for helping business owners in the Gladstone region achieve their goals.

Carl Carter
Vice President

Carl, GCCI's Vice-President is a local business manager with 11 years of professional experience across corporate operations. 

Carl, GCCI's Vice-President is a local business manager with 11 years of professional experience and has completed his CPA and university degree in a Bachelor of Business. He’s recently joined CMM after working in media and content creation for 11 years. The majority of this time was in senior executive roles within Australian Provincial Newspapers, including his most recent role as General Manager for APN’s largest region in North and Central Queensland. Carl’s background is in finance and it's this business acumen and approachable nature that has enabled him to form genuine relationships with a variety of clients and brands in regional markets.

Carissa Gunston is a Client Manager at the local accounting & financial planning firm, GTC Financial.

Carissa has over 15 years’ experience in the accounting profession drawing from her experience working in public practice, as well as her previous roles in motel management and Corporate Services Manager for GAPDL. Carissa loves working in public practice, forming authentic relationships with her clients and helping small to medium businesses to improve profits, increase cash flow and reach their business, personal & financial goals.

Sarah Hunt

Sarah Hunt is a Senior Town Planner and Office Manager for Zone Planning Group, with 9 years experience working in both Local Government and the private sector.

During this time Sarah has been responsible for both the project management and assessment of numerous developments across Queensland including residential master planned estates, mixed use and high-rise residential development, commercial projects and a variety of large industrial developments, along with the project management of CBD urban renewal strategies, placemaking projects and policy drafting. In addition to practicing as a Town Planner, Sarah also holds a Masters in Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development, which allows her to assist both Local Government and Private Sector Organisations to develop resilience against disasters through the development of Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Business Continuity Plans. Sarah is committed to using her skills to help Gladstone’s business community navigate their way through the red tape, realise their development goals and encourage economic growth throughout our Region.

Ashleigh Kvitko

Ashleigh Kvitko, is the owner of local brands Elevate Media and our regional Gladstone News publications.

Ashleigh Kvitko, is the owner of local brands Elevate Media and Gladstone News. Ashleigh moved to the region in 2012 as an Account Executive and advanced into the Deputy Sales Manager position for Central Queensland with Channel 7.

Her passion for media and marketing saw her grab the opportunity to take over Elevate Media and Gladstone News with both hands and evolve them into heavily design and digital focused brands. Ashleigh has a love for small businesses, building client relationships and helping businesses flourish into successful brands.

Hayley Jordison

Hayley has worked in her family owned business, Gladstone Betta Home Living, for the past 3 years after graduating high school.

The family business has been trading for 20 years with the Betta brand trading in Gladstone since 1964. While Hayley started young working for the Coffee Club for 5 years, at the age of 20, she’s now purchased her first house, is studying a Bachelor of Business with Central Qld University and is keen to be involved in and to contribute to the local community.

Naomi Patterson-Kane

Naomi is the Owner and Workshop Manager of PK’s Automotive on Chapple Street Central Gladstone.

PK’s was established in January of 2017 but become a Company in July 2018 to which Naomi & her partner are directors of. PK’s are here for the local community. They strive to do their best each and every day, providing honest, upfront and affordable service keeping their customers cars reliable and more importantly safe on the road. Being a local business owner Naomi is of course passionate about small business and helping those whom she can. Naomi co-founded a small networking group to do just so, supporting fellow local business women. When the opportunity to join the local Chamber arose- Naomi did not hesitate to join. Naomi states, “I cannot wait to give more value back to the community and to see what changes & improvements we can make collectively as a team- Bring on 2020!”.
